Send Chocs we’re proud

May 16th, 2008

our new site is Send Chocs .com and we are justifiably proud of it. Handmade English Chocolates, Wine, Champagne and lots of other goodies are there. You can send them to yourself or anyone in the UK via our secure shop.

Cooks of Swanton (now owned by Nick and Lynne Ratcliffe) are our suppliers and we hope to assist them with a steady growth of their business.

We are going to promote Send Chocs as a brand, so domains that will be utilised include sendchocs.com, sendchocs.co.uk, send-chocs.com and send-chocs.co.uk– our domain Chocolates Direct is currently a standalone site featuring amongst others  Leonidas Belgian Chocolate, Chocolate Trading CoCadbury Gifts Direct and Thorntons; all these have affiliate programs.

After final testing, we will ask Profitistic to run our affiliates program, they already handle our 4inkjets.co.uk campaign, email Dave Bird he is very helpful.

Pilates

April 29th, 2008

Having just returned form Pilates with Kate Mcconnon, I thought Kate deserved a blog entry.

We all have our own reasons for going to class, not many go for a pure social event and most of us have been referred in one way or another. Although her website is in its early days, I have suggested Kate have links to her favourite Pilates MusicExcercise Videos and Books plus all the Equipment you could ever want. These last three links are not endorsed by Kate but are examples of how Affiliate Marketing can be intergrated into almost any website. I agree that Affiliations is not be a get rich quick scheme, the few percent earned from each completed sale may eventually allow the installation of a sparkly ceiling , yes, another affilation link. So, let’s not miss out on silent sales.

A Wonderful Weekend

April 20th, 2008

The National Pairs Finals of the EBU (English Bridge Union) were held at the Hinkley Island Hotel this weekend, 19-20th March 08. I think everyone involved had a great, if not exhausting time.

For my part, I chauffeured my wife and her bridge partner so they could save their energy for the two days of play. Eating, drinking and resting in the Hotels bars and lounges was the order of the day.

I did have the pleasure of listening to a super live band, Mister Sister who had been booked to perform at the British Driving Society’s annual dinner and dance, following their AGM. The band were very professional as detailed on their website do have a look. The BDS appears to be open and welcoming to everyone, their subscription rates were very reasonable in 2006 (when that particular page of their site was last updated)

Valdehermoso 2006

March 28th, 2008

Call me old fashioned but I still can’t get used to plastic “corks”. I know the arguement is old.

This wine from Bordegas y Vinedos Valderiz was most unassuming and easy to drink without shouting hey I’m full of blackcurrents with a hint of coal, or any of that twaddle. Just a nice everyday wine, thank you.

“The complete absence of herbicides, pesticides and mineral fertilizers is our hallmark” Quoted from the Vineyards waesite, they really should make more of this claim

Some of my favourite subjects

March 24th, 2008

I know it’s not all about me, but I do enjoy writing about things I like.

So, it should be no surprise to read here about Wine and Affiliate Marketing in the same entry.

Let me explain, It’s no secret that I have often registered domains without any real idea what to do with them. That way www.mywinelist.co.uk came to be and for many moons it simply pointed to www.shops-mart.co.uk’s food and drink section.  I’ve now added a category for Wine and Vineyards, to which I will add links to the Vineyards that supply wines that I enjoy and, where I can, links to places to purchase the featured wines—this will be fun for me.

The above will be all the more enjoyable, if I can find decent wine suppliers with their own affiliate program in place, then a few pennies will come our way every time our link is employed in a sale. If these wine suppliers don’t have an affiliate program in place, I should be able to point them (or anyone else) in the direction of reputable program facilitators.

SEO Myth or Fact

March 21st, 2008

After years of slogging with updates for Wabbit.co.uk, we have finally reached No. 1 on page 1 in MrG UK for the search term Safe Search and No. 1 on page 1 in G.com for the term Ethical Safe Search – a pat on the back is well deserved.

Mattressman delivers the goods

March 20th, 2008

A new mattress can make all the difference to a night’s sleep, don’t forget your mattress will wear out. We had a good experience buying our new mattress from Mattressman.co.uk, an online retailer of everything to do with beds. They offer free next–day delivery. You might think there may be problems buying something as large as a mattress, but no, it came well protected and without damage, although it was a little heavy for the poor delivery driver. Another thumbs up for online shopping, mattressman.co.uk affiliate program is promoted by Affiliate Window, and if you need to find out about affiliate marketing a good place to start would be Altovista.co.uk.

March 20th, 2008

On Your Marques

October 30th, 2007

Oh what a wonderful afternoon we had at On Your Marques . Chris and Jane made us welcome and looked after us as though we were the first visitors of the season, not almost the last.

Jane had prepared a super tea party for the birthday girl and a decorated cake that would make any baker proud.

So, after ham sandwiches with the crusts off, profiteroles (I ate too many) and top quality coffee, we adjourned to the Scalextric track, 45 metres of exciting bends and fast straights. The birthday girl got a Ferrari as a present, so no guesses which car was fastest.

Roll on next season, we will certainly be returning to this excellent attraction, bringing with us the many “children” we know who will no doubt have as much fun as we did.

Thank you again Chris and Jane for a wonderful venue.

Sunpipe and Sola-vent

October 5th, 2007

We have installed both the Sunpipe and Sola-vent into our home.

The delivery was prompt and the packaging super, no damage reportable.

The installation was straightforward for anyone with some DIY skills although the time suggested installation should take is a little out, I would give a day for each first time around; if you get proficient then a pair of diyers should take about three hours for a Sunpipe, four or five for a sola-vent.

In use they do what they say on the packet and work well in any light situations, even illuminating areas using the streetlight as a source.
